UNAIR NEWS – Directorate of Education Universitas Airlangga hosted Seminar on Global Health and Workshop on Bioethics 2017 entitled “Strengthening Global Health and Bioethics to Achieve a Better Equity, Justice and Equality,” a discussion about global health and bioethics in cross field perspectives.
It held on Monday – Tuesday (30 – 31/10). The speakers came from various field in both health and social, including, the speaker from IOWA University Carver College of Medicine, Mark A Graber and Amy Forrestel MD.
Seminar and workshop decided into two sessions each day. For first session of seminar there were three speakers, Mark A. Graber, MD MSHCE FACEP; Amy Forrestel MD; and Dr. Prihartini Widiyanti, drg., M.Kes., the coordinator of interprofessional education, UNAIR and the discussion was led by M. Atoillah Isvandiari, dr., M.Kes., with discussion topic “Global Health, Interprofesional Education, & Collaborative Practice“.
Second session with topics “Global Ethics a& Ethical Dilemma” , and spoken by dr. Linda Dewanti, M.Kes., MHSc., PH.D., Mark A. Graber and Prof., dr. Djoko Santoso, Ph.D., Sp.PD. K-GH. FINASIM from Faculty of Medicine UNAIR.
Vice rector I UNAIR, Prof. dr., Djoko Santoso, Ph.D., K-GH., FINASIM., during his speech explained there were many complex challenges occurs and need solution for the challenges.
He also reminded the agreement about NKRI (Republic of Indonesia) with Pancasila as Ideology must be a foothold in an effort to contribute to build and promote the nation. He explained that we must respect each other, cooperate, remind, and support each other, also grow the sincerity.
He revealed that everything cannot be far from obstacles. Like a river, it is impossible to walk straight, must be tortuous. However, the sincerity and obedience to god to do or start something will turn to us. Not to forget, he thanked all the speakers, especially to Mark A. Graber and Amy Forrestel, for presentation.
Joko also thanked to the committee of the event “May god will reply your goodness and give goodness and convenience to all of us, “he concluded.
