UNAIR NEWS – Information and Public Relations (PIH) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) keeps coming up with interesting innovations, including on external communication. One of the ways is by strengthening ties with other universities in Surabaya.

It aims to create synergy among the universities as all of them have their uniqueness and specificity on their fields of study. They all can make great combinations to achieve bigger target.

Information and Public Relations (PIH) has made some breakthroughs such as inviting other universities to participate in UNAIR big events. The latest events UNAIR going to host are  Creativepreneurship on March 14 and Mata Najwa on Stage Metro TV  the next day held in Airlangga Convention Center (ACC). Universities invited for participation were Universitas dr Soetomo, Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 (Untag) Surabaya, Politeknik Untag, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Komunikasi Surabaya (Stikosa) AWS, and Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa).

“UNAIR Public Relations keeps making approaches with other universities’ public relations to create togetherness. In the future, it won’t be only among the public relation units but also all universities’ working units,” said the Head of PIH, Suko Widodo.

All universities, said the man who has been ‘president’s spiritual advisor’ in Republik Mimpi Metro TV, can complete each one another in some aspects. Therefore, positive effects of universities among the society can be maximized.

“ITS, for example, has architectural department. It can be combined with communication science. It aims to create uniqueness in architectural works. Not only for what is visible, but also for its psychological dimension and all,” said the expert of political communication.

Meanwhile, a student attended Creativepreneur event in ACC from Faculty of Sports, Unesa named Robi Heriaji admitted that he was satisfied with the program. “The discussion session on creative industry has opened my mind,” said the man who studies on coaching.

Similar to Robi’s opinion, an student from Untag named Vikri Fla felt lucky for being there. He is coming for the other big event, Mata Najwa on Stage. “I can strengthen ties and acquainted with other students from other universities. It is an effective way of communicating with academicians,” said the student of Management Untag. (*)
