UNAIR NEWS – Rector of Universitas Airlangga Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih has installed 123 new officials. The inauguration process of the new officials was held in the Hall of Amerta Management Office, Tuesday, September 19.
The newly elected officials are composed of deans, vice deans, heads and secretaries of the institutes, centers, and boards as well as directors of directorates in UNAIR. UNAIR Rector also inaugurated the head of administrative services at faculty and university level.
In front of the newly inaugurated officials, the rector said that they assumed considerable responsibilities. They are expected to increase the positive exposure of UNAIR in local communities to the global.
“There are many things that must be monitored. We must be able to encourage and develop the existence of UNAIR in the community, “said Nasih.
There are two things becoming Prof. Nasih’s concern in the inauguration of new officials, increasing in the number of international publications in reputable and indexed journals, as well as encouraging UNAIR students to make the best achievements.
In the aspect of publication, the rector advised them to boost the quantity of publications, especially at international level. The target is, by 2017, UNAIR to be in top ten universities in Indonesia contributing the number of publications in reputable international journals.
“It becomes one of the responsibilities, what we produce must be noticed by global community. Of course it should be in reputable and indexed journals, “Rector added.
Prof. Nasih also reminded that the new officials encourage their subordinates to continue to innovate in providing services to the academic community. He urged all services to use technology.
“By 2017, we are faced with different challenges, technologies, environments, and demands. To you who occupy structural positions, we are in the era of technology. So, the public must know the excellence of UNAIR. Congratulations and keep making achievements. Let us make UNAIR be the best university in the world, ” said UNAIR Rector in the end.
