UNAIR NEWS – Rector of Universitas Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, S.E., M.T., Ak., CMA., accompanied by the Deans, on Saturday September 9, graduated 840 students from Vocational degree (D-3) to Doctorate (S-3). It was the first day of the two-day graduation ceremony in September 2017. The second day of graduation will be held on Sunday, September 10, and there will be 845 graduates. It is held at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) building, Campus C Jl. Mulyorejo Surabaya.
Every graduation ceremony at UNAIR is always solemn and festive. The beginning of the process is sacred; the inauguration by the Rector, the oath-taking as the alumni of UNAIR, and the diploma awarding. In this session, Rector was accompanied by their respective deans.
After completing his speech, the Official Presidium of Alumni Association of Airlangga University (PP IKA-UA), represented by Hari Purnomo, SE., MBA., also symbolically handed member cards to the graduates represented by Lucky Adhitiya (FST) and Rofika Anggun Thursina (FKM ). Then followed by a speech from the graduate delivered by Gabrielia Febrianty Shofiana, SH.
In his speech, the Rector of UNAIR Prof. Moh Nasih said that status as a college student makes them proud. But UNAIR graduates must be ready to take off that proud title (as a student). After removing the status as a student, the alumni should immediately get the prestige, that is real service in society.
“Once students are believed to be agents of change, agent of change , it should be maintained, as agents of change and development in society. In the past with their thoughts, now with their real dedication, “said the Rector.

The Rector expected UNAIR alumni to be critical of the circumstances surrounding him. All issues should be carefully examined, analyzed with their respective scientific competencies, summarized, and then provide solutions that are always associated with morality. In essence, not only give criticism but also provide constructive solutions.
“That’s your job starting today as an educated and people with morality. Because UNAIR will not graduate those who are immoral and without excellence. Because by graduating them with e xcellence and morality will make them able to face and overcome challenges and future responsibilities, “said the Professor FEB UNAIR.
Before closing the special session for graduation, the Rector also encouraged them to always respect the parents and / or who finance their studies. Rector also asked them to take selfies with friends sitting on either side, then uploaded to various social media of UNAIR.
In this UNAIR September 2017 graduation, the graduates of Faculty of Vocational Studies dominated with 520 people, followed by FISIP 187 graduates, and from the Faculty of Pharmacy 180 people. Then undergraduate programs reached 901 people, master’s with 242 people, and doctoral 22 people. (*)
