UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Center has held a Reputation and Impact Quality Improvement Workshop to improve implementation and accelerate the achievement of SDGs in 2023. The workshop was held on Thursday, October 24, 2022, at Hotel Platinum Surabaya.
Vice Rector for Internationalization, Digitalization, and Information, Prof Muhammad Miftahussurur dr MKes SpPD-KGEH PhD FINASIM, conveyed the importance of lateral thinking during his speech. “With a lateral way of mindset, which is not commonly practiced, can lead to a tremendous impact,” explained Prof Miftah.
Miftah explained that THE Impact is a ranking that rises and falls rapidly in each period. He gave an example of several universities that were initially brilliant and then dropped to the bottom of THE Impact rankings.

In the same occasion, UNAIR Head of SDGs Center Bayu Arie Fianto SE MBA PhD encouraged the audience to pay attention to refugee issues in THE Impact. “We need to pay attention to the relevance of activities based on guidelines per indicator such as paying attention to refugee issues, ” explained Bayu.
Furthermore, UNAIR SDGs Center Secretary Hakim Skep Ns MSN explained about THE Impact Ranking 2023. “The focus of SDGs in THE Impact uses 4 assessment indicator metrics: Research, Stewardship, Outreach, and Teaching,” explained Hakim.
