UNAIR NEWS – Directorate of Student Affairs and Universitas Airlangga Bidikmisi Organization have welcomed and briefed the future Bidikmisi students from State University National Admission Selection (SNMPTN).
The welcoming event will be held for two days. The first day, May 17, there were 239 future Bidikmisi students participating in Garuda Mukti Hall Campus C UNAIR.
In the event, the Bidikmisi UNAIR scholarship recipients were briefed on the Bidikmisi program mechanism. The committee also invited an alumnus of Bidikmisi to motivate and share experiences during studies.
The Director of Student Affairs, Dr. M. Hadi Shubhan, said that the opportunity for being a Bidikmisi student in UNAIR is an extraordinary achievement.
Hadi also emphasized that they should be thankful as not any graduates of SMA get the opportunity to study in UNAIR.
“Be thankful in many ways. Not only in words. Finish study on time and be serious in your studies and thank to the government,” he added.
UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih also said that they were chosen individuals and he said that he was in similar condition like them.
“If only in the 1980s, there had been Bidikmisi, I would have been like all of you,” said Nasih followed with an applause.
The 13th UNAIR Rector also said that knowledge can be used to change life. For Prof. Nasih education is also an investment of the afterlife.
“Knowledge can raise our grade in this world and in the afterlife,” said Prof. Nasih.
After the briefing from Directorate of Student Affairs, the future students are directed to Student Center Hall for verification of the data for program eligibility.
