Developing Cooperation and Service through Organization

UNAIR NEWS – Devi Kurniawan, the head of Student Executive Board (BEM) of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) 2018, responded to the importance of the organization for students. In college life, organization is something that must exist. However, it cannot be denied, there are still students who do not join any organizations.

According to Devi, humans as social beings need to work together in life, in all areas. They naturally interact and help others in society. Joining organization, he continued, will definitely hone such skills and familiarize you to appreciate the time.

“Until now, from the experience in organizations, the benefits that I can take is I appreciate more time. Because, a second is meaningful in a busy schedule, “he said.

Organizations and students cannot be separated. Sometimes the busy schedule as a student and the number of organizational activities demand them to set priorities. Therefore, along the journey, the students often encounter some obstacles.

Devi admitted, until now, he has not experienced obstacles. He hopes he will not meet any obstacles. One way is to prioritize and manage the time clearly and responsibly.

“In managing the time, I set priority and I do not postpone works, because procrastination may bring a domino effect to other things. If it happens, other affairs also become victims, “said the staff of Human Resources Development BEM UNAIR 2016.

So far, Devi’s parents have always supported her activities. He was very lucky because they liked being in organizations. Therefore, Devi finds no difficulties to convince both of them. However, he still tried to maintain their trust that has been given to him.

“What prompted me to continue in it (organization, ed) is that the organization’s experience cannot be found in lectures. In addition, in organizations, our lives can be beneficial to others. Although not all that significant but, it is the beginning for greater significance, “said the sixth semester student.
