UNAIR NEWS – Alumni of Universitas Airlangga often experienced the twists and turns of struggle after graduated from college until finally they got a position desired by many people. Just as shared by one of the alumni who managed to occupy the position of director of RSUD Balung, Jember, Drg. Nur Cahyohadi, MARS, alumnus of Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG) UNAIR.
Nur Cahyo gave his best until he was finally able to occupy the position as director. After graduated from FKG UNAIR in 1989, he has had various professions. He has a principle since college not to be dependent on parents. In almost all the work he has ever been involved in, Nur Cahyo acts as a beginner.
“Apparently I am destined to start everything from scratch. It was a very valuable experience for me, “said Nur Cahyo who had given motivation in Airlangga Education Expo last February.
Nur Cahyo recalled, after college, he became a marketing officer in a dentures laboratory. He became a salesman in charge of meeting lecturers in FKG that require dentures. Through the profession, by one of the lecturers, he was offered to develop a dental clinic in Bali. So, Nur Cahyo accepted the offer though he had to leave his parents.
Working in Bali, he then moved from one clinic to another. Nur Cahyo has moved from Patria Husada clinic, Nusa Dua Medical Service, to Kasih Ibu Hospital. Almost in everything, he started from scratch. “Almost all my activities in Bali started from scratch. From the absence of patients to have patients, “he explained.
In 1992, on behalf of the Ministry of Health, Nur Cahyo started his career at Ambulu Public Health Center, Jember District. Eight years on duty, he then moved to Puskesmas Jenggawah in 2000. And, two years later, Nur Cahyo was assigned to take care of the newly established hospital at that time, Balung Hospital. After several years, he then trusted to be a director on June 1, 2016 until now.
Organization Experience
Twists and turns of life has been felt by Nur Cahyo. He always feels the benefit of joining organization at college. Such as from his study at FKG UNAIR.
Nur Cahyo recalled the activities at UNAIR that were useful in his profession. He admitted that he was from a disadvantaged family while attending college, he rarely went home while studying at UNAIR. After his classes, he joined senate and Scouting movement as his non-academic activities.
Nur Cahyo including one of the students who feel the benefits of following the scouting club. At one time, there was a Student and ABRI Student Tent Camp at Bukit Soeharto, East Kalimantan. He and his team must go in the community. In addition to scouting activities, continued Nur Cahyo, he also provided dental servicves.
“There, I can combine the science of my faculty with the club I follow, scouting,” said the recipient of the scholarship Supersemar.
After all the twists and turns he experienced, Nur Cahyo felt the need to share his experiences to students and prospective students UNAIR. Through UNAIR NEWS , he advised the prospective students to continue to improve knowledge in order to compete in this advanced era.
“To be sure, they (prospective students, ed) must strengthen their knowledge to be able to compete. Why? Because a lot of them are smart, “he said.
“Do not forget to pray, so that in the intelligence is also equipped with good faith. So there is synergy with the science. The end result is that younger siblings can be accepted at UNAIR according to the faculty and the desired department, “he added. (*)
