Bayu also encouraged the participants to learn about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a whole in order to become “Ambassadors of SDGs in Universitas Airlangga. “ He also motivated the students to socialize and share knowledge with stakeholders in their respective faculties to support activities and policies related to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals at the university, regional, national, and international levels.

“The opportunity to become a volunteer for students is one of the positive activities that can provide many benefits. Becoming a volunteer can provide three valuable lessons for students,” said Bayu.

First, you can update a portfolio or CV. Students with experience as volunteers gain new knowledge and experience, and it can be an added value that will be used later in the professional world.

Second, practice working in teams to build time management, communication skills, and personal branding. Volunteering activities can help increase students’ credibility and special expertise in a field.

Third, it can build community engagement and expand student social networks to care about the environment.

The selected volunteers have gone through various stages of selection process to be selected as UNAIR SDGs Center volunteers. (*)
