UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga Faculty of Law (FH) has made another proudest achievement. After being ranked first in Indonesia according to the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2022 in Law, FH UNAIR has just been ranked first in Indonesia according to the Scimago Institutions Rankings (SIR) 2022. In addition to occupying the number one position among universities in Indonesia, FH UNAIR is ranked 31st in Asia and 217th in the world.

There are three indicators used for SIR: research performance (50%), innovation outputs (30%), and societal impact (20%). FH UNAIR, as an institution that focuses on the publication of legal scientific research, has proven to have the best performance and quality in the field of research, especially in scientific publications indexed by Scopus.

The Dean of FH UNAIR, Iman Prihandono SH MH LLM PhD, revealed that this achievement could not be achieved without various parties’ efforts and assistance. Iman said that FH UNAIR has been contributing to research for a long time, encouraging lecturers and students to collaborate on research with academics at various partner universities to improve research performance indicators.

“We have also launched a legal education application called Airlangga Legal Education Center (ALEC). This is the first online-based legal education application in Indonesia,” said Iman on Thursday, June 16, 2022.

In addition to launching ALEC application, Iman also explained that the Faculty of Law UNAIR had published a booklet for Indonesian Migrant Workers abroad and provided guidance to several villages related to restorative justice, corruption prevention, and reinforcing the protection of Intellectual Property for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) practitioners. These efforts, he continued, were carried out to improve the social services of FH UNAIR in the community.

In his closing statement, Iman expressed his gratitude to all parties who have contributed and worked hard in maintaining the performance of FH UNAIR nationally and globally. He hopes that in the future, FH UNAIR can maintain this excellent achievement and performance.

“I’d like to extend our gratitude the leaderships of Universitas Airlangga, who have supported us in the Faculty and provided a lot of assistance so that we (FH UNAIR, ed ) can develop new programs and innovations. I’d also like to thank all of the academics, administrative staff, teaching staff, students, and alumni of FH UNAIR,” said Iman. (*)
