UNAIR sends 10 students for KKN Kebangsaan in Palangkaraya

UNAIR NEWS – Being a leading higher education institution, Universitas Airlangga actively contributes in the 10th KKN Kebangsaan in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan by sending its ten best delegates.

Secretary of Institute for Community Service and Development UNAIR (LPPM UNAIR), dr Niko Azhari Hidayat Sp BTKV(K)VE said that ten UNAIR students will run several programs in Anjir Palambang village, Pulau Petak sub-district, Kapuas.

“We attempt to conduct water laboratory tests to provide the clean water needs as this region faces water shortage. We also have another program for making banana peels-based flour,” said dr Niko.

He hoped UNAIR delegations could raise the spirit of nationalism and collaboration in the post-pandemic national development recovery through KKN Kebangsaan 2022.

Quoted from kaltengnews.co.id, the Chief Executive Dr Ir Aswin Usup MSc stated that the KKN Kebangsaan 2022 was participated by 2,331 students consisting of 1,000 students from the higher educations in the west and east and 1,331 students from Universitas Palangka Raya (UPR).

“Technically, the participants of KKN Kebangsaan will be grouped to serve in 100 villages of 64 districts in Kapuas and Pulang Pisau,” he said.

Upon carrying the theme on the “Implementation of the Huma Betang philosophy as the manifestation of the Republic of Indonesia to support the development of food barns toward national independence”, Dr Andrie Elia SE MSi, the Rector of Universitas Palangka Raya said that the KKN Kebangsaan will explore the “Huma Betang traditional house as an effort to introduce Dayak culture”.

“As a traditional house of the Dayak tribe, Huma Betang carries a deep philosophy. Several families can live peacefully in Huma Batang. A harmonious coexistence between the Dayaks and nonnatives,” Andrie said.

“It reflects the life of Dayak people that accept the diversity in the frame of nationalism. Therefore, Huma Betang set as the main theme of KKN Kebangsaan 2022.”

The hybrid inauguration ceremony of KKN Kebangsaan 2022 was attended by a number of national figures. Some of them are the Fifth President of Indonesia, Megawati Sukarnoputri; the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno; Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia, Nadiem Makarim; the Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) H Bambang Soesatyo SE MBA; the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (Kasad) General Dudung Abdurachman SE MM; and many more.

The ten UNAIR students who participated in the KKN Kebangsaan are M Daffa Rendy and Aisyah Amira W from Communications; Rafli Saifullah L, M Amjad Raihantoro, Shanet Salsabilla C, and Wahyudhia Zalpa from Sociology; Rizza Jazilatul Ainiyah from Public Administrations; Nabila Himatul Ifah from Anthropology; Andini Rahayu Permadi from the Public Health; and Alysa Latika from Indonesian Language and Literature.
