UNAIR NEWS – Every year, Universitas Airlangga accepts the nation’s best students as the Ksatria Airlangga. This year, Rizma Pujatirta made it to the list. Rizma, the new student of UNAIR Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV), has taken on a role in Koesno: Jati Diri Soekarno documentary movie.
Role in Koesno movie
Koesno tells the Father of the Nation’s journey from childhood until he had big influences, seeing other important figures and becoming the most influential person in the independence of Indonesia.
Rizma played the role of Siti Oetari, the first wife of Soekarno, in the movie, which was launched on August 14, 2022. During the making of the movie, Rizma thought that she couldn’t match her costars and the production team’s keenness.
“I was worried about my acting performance due to my lack of experience. But the production team was very kind. I learned a lot about movie making, thanks to Koesno,” she said gratefully.
Performance record on silver screen
Rizma considered herself a newbie in acting. She took part in her school festival until she played an extra role in Terbang: Menembus Langit biopic. The 2003-born student admitted her love for films during her leisure time.
Proud to be Ksatria Airlangga
For Rizma, being a Ksatria Airlangga is a personal achievement. Apart from getting the opportunity to learn in one of the world’s best universities, UNAIR holds a historical relation for the student of Marketing Management Diploma Program with her grandfather, Roeslan Abdoelgani or Cak Roes. In 1960, UNAIR granted the ‘Honoris Causa Doctorate’ or ‘Dr. (HC)’ to the Surabaya local figure.
Growing up in Roeslan Abdoelgani’s home
Cak Roes, Indonesia’s former foreign minister, was a brother of Rizma’s grandmother. To commemorate and pay respect to Cak Roes’ contribution to the nation, Rizma’s family took the initiative to transform the house in Plampitan, Surabaya, into cultural heritage. “It is often used for documentary movie shooting, thesis or project making, and other historical purposes,” she said.
Raised in the area, Rizma received a lot of positive influences, including the opportunity to star in Koesno. “I would like to be validated for my skills, but I’m fully grateful for my grandfather’s huge reputation. I will never get this wonderful opportunity without him,” she said.
Rizma’s hope
Rizma hoped that the movie, which also starred Surabaya mayor Eri Cahyadi as Soekarno, will pass the spirit of nationalism and remind the community to continuously maintain historical values and national integrity.
