UNAIR NEWS – National Student Science Week (PIMNAS) was officially closed on Saturday, December 3, 2022. In this event, UNAIR brought home two medals and a favorite winner from the poster and presentation category.
In the presentation category, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) team won one gold medal and one favorite winner, while in the poster category UNAIR won a bronze medal.
UNAIR Rector Prof. Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak expressed his highest appreciation to the UNAIR contingent and mentor lecturers who have struggled to reach this stage. They are extraordinary people with solid commitments.
“I’m sure these students had done their best. We will accept any results determined by the judges,” he said.
According to him, winning or losing, the contingent is already successful. It’s not the gold, but the process and passion we should be proud of, and it should be emulated by other students who compete in any field.
“In this world, we cannot run from competitions, so our success in the future also cannot be separated from competitions,” he said.
Hopefully, those who excel can inspire their younger students. So more UNAIR students will take part in competitions.
“We have to pass on this spirit of competition to them, so that in the future, more UNAIR students will participate in PIMNAS and other scientific work competitions.”
In the future, Prof. Nasih hopes UNAIR can send more students and remain a university to be reckoned with by other universities. There should be an increase in the quality of the proposals selected at the faculty level. He continued that several incentives will be prepared so that all students can be encouraged to compete in PIMNAS and other competitions.
“We will try to provide full support so that students are interested in competing with more optimal facilities. We’ll support the research process from start to finish,” he explained.
He urged students who passed PIMNAS to be involved more in assisting PIMNAS students. According to him, this contribution would be useful in preparing competitive UNAIR graduates.
As a form of appreciation for students, the rector born in Lamongan said that finalists who are currently at the end of the ninth semester will receive single tuition fee (UKT) exemption. Meanwhile, finalists who win gold medals at PIMNAS will be given scholarships to continue their masters at UNAIR.
