UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), one of Indonesia’s best state universities, has made another proudest achievement. UNAIR has gained Excellent Accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) in 2022-2023.
“UNAIR had A Accreditation from BAN-PT for decades. Then there was something called accreditation conversion from A accreditation to Excellent Accreditation with certain conditions,” explained Prof. Nurul Barizah SH LLM PhD as Head of UNAIR Quality Assurance Board.
The first requirement to convert A accreditation to Excellent Accreditation is related to the condition of full-time lecturers and contractual lecturers. “We were asked to explain the permanent lecturers and contractual lecturers along with the reasons,” explained Prof. Nurul.
Quality Assurance System
Furthermore, Prof. Nurul explained the requirements for converting A Accreditation to Excellent Accreditation, especially regarding the quality assurance system. Some of the things that were assessed in this requirement are the availability of documents, implementation plans, and monitoring and evaluation reports which must be well-structured and sustainable.
“Besides that, it is also necessary to submit a quality document recording system to stakeholders,” he explained.
The final requirement for converting A Accreditation to Excellent Accreditation is scientific publication. The scientific publication must be accredited nationally and internationally.
Exceed the standard
“UNAIR has exceeded the standard requirements for the accreditation conversion,” explained Prof. Nurul.
In this case, UNAIR is beyond certification, research, and scientific publication standards. Furthermore, UNAIR also has quality assurance system data. On the other hand, UNAIR permanent and contractual lecturers have met the criteria.
“Therefore, we deserve this Excellent Accreditation from BAN-PT. However, we should not feel complacent because we must continue to compete in goodness,” explained Prof. Nurul.
In the end, Prof. Nurul hopes that UNAIR can become the best university in Indonesia. (*)
