UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga students continue to make academic and non-academic achievements. This time, the Student Activity Unit (UKM) Karate DO of Universitas Airlangga has brought home 7 gold, 6 silver, and 11 bronze medals at Atmajaya Cup I, Indonesia’s National Olympic Committee (KONI) Cup, Malang.
The competition was held at Ken Arok Sports Arena (GOR), Malang. UNAIR team defeated thousands of participants from all over Indonesia.
To UNAIR NEWS, Antik Widi, the President of Student Karate-DO Club UNAIR explained, they have made preparation for a month for the competition. They held 16 practice sessions to improve their performances after the long break.
“I believe consistency is the key to winning. Practicing consistently is essential to prepare yourself before the competition,” she said.
Bagging 24 medals home does not make Antik and her team complacent in making another achievement. “It triggers our spirit to ace the next competition. We hope our team at Karate-DO will continue to make the alma mater proud,” she hoped.
“The victory is a milestone of the Karate-DO Student Activity Unit in 2023, it motivates us to make another achievement on March 3 to 5, 2023,” Antik said.
