2,672 prospective students get into UNAIR through SNBT 2023

UNAIR NEWS – The result of the national selection for higher education based on test (SNBT) 2023 was announced on Monday, June 20, 2023, through the official website of SNPMB Kemendikbud. Therefore, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE, MT, Ak, CMA held a press conference at the Amerta Room, Management Building of UNAIR MERR-C Campus, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

On the SNBT 2023, UNAIR has accepted 2,672 new students out of 34,159 participants. Approximately 555 of them are members of Indonesia Smart Card (KIP).

“Alhamdulillah, 34,159 students want to attend UNAIR this year. It’s a very high number. Unfortunately, we can only accept 2,672 students,” he said.

National Top Five Average UTBK Score

Prof. Nasih stated that the average score on the computer-based test (UTBK) of UNAIR new students reached 648.92. The number takes UNAIR to the top five universities with the highest average of UTBK scores at the national level.

“Regarding the test score, which is equally important, Alhamdulillah, UNAIR ranks fifth nationally with a score of 648.92,” the Rector said.

Furthermore, he named several study programs with the highest average scores. In the Science and Technology cluster, Medicine ranks first with a 735.92 score, followed by Data Science Technology, Information Systems, Dental Medicine, and Statistics.

On the other hand, in the Social Sciences and Humanities cluster, the highest average scores are found in the Psychology and Accounting study programs, with average scores of 676.92 and 672.42, respectively.

Interdisciplinary students

Furthermore, out of the 2,672 new students, 33 are students from interdisciplinary backgrounds. Some of them choose study programs that are completely different from their specialization in high school.

Addressing the matter, UNAIR prepares several alternatives for them. First, interdisciplinary students must provide minimum final grade requirements for relevant subjects based on the needs of the study program.

“Students who are going to complete the registration process must provide information about their grades in high school subjects relevant to the courses in their chosen study program. For example, if they are applying for the Dental Medicine program, they would have to provide information about their grades in Biology and Chemistry, and so on,” he said.

Besides, UNAIR also prepares a matriculation program for interdisciplinary students. Before proceeding to regular courses, they must meet the minimum grade threshold in matriculation. It will minimize the potential risks during the study.

In the end, Prof. Nasih called the prospective new students to complete the registration process. The information on requirements and conditions is available on the UNAIR website.

“Kindly prepare the required documents for registration. See more details at https://snbt.unair.ac.id/count.html,” he said.
