FUNAIR Fest ends UNAIR’s anniversary celebration

UNAIR NEWS – The 69th anniversary celebration of Universitas Airlangga has come to an end. To wrap up the moment, UNAIR held the FUNAIR Fest on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the Airlangga Convention Center. The fest was filled with various events from morning till night.

UNAIR Rector Prof Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak stated that the fest will officially end the anniversary celebrations. This moment encourages the UNAIR academic community towards the age of 70th. “This event marks the end of UNAIR’s 69th anniversary celebration. It’s a warm-up for the 70th anniversary as well,” he said.

He hoped for an even merrier celebration next year. “It shows that UNAIR has undergone a long process. The upcoming anniversary should be celebrated more impressively,” he said.

The e-sport competitions for Mobile Legends and PES were held in the morning. The finalists compete with one another to show their talents.

The competition provides a platform for e-sports enthusiasts to compete and enhance their skills. Winners get to receive cash prizes worth millions of rupiah.

Final round of Airlangga Mencari Bintang

The final round of Airlangga Mencari Bintang (AMB) was held in the evening. Ten finalists performed their talents in front of the audience.

The finalists showcased varied performances, from contemporary dance, and singing, to ludruk. The supporters of each finalist cheered, adding to the lively atmosphere.

The finalists competed for various championship categories. The rector gave the presents directly to the winners. He hoped that the AMB would bring forth new talented individuals.

Prof Nasih has even prepared a special contract for the winners to perform at future events organized by UNAIR. May these new talents continue to thrive at UNAIR. The winners will receive a special contract to perform at UNAIR’s events, we don’t have to invite external performers anymore,” he said.

The performances of two famous musicians brighten the closing night of UNAIR’s 69th anniversary. Klantink, known for its distinctive music arrangements, enchanted the audience to sing along.

Afterward, the music from Pusakata entertained the audience. They performed “Ruang Tunggu” for the last song. Mohammad Istiqamah Djamad, the vocalist, hoped that more outstanding figures would be born from UNAIR. “We are glad to be part of this joyous night. Keep innovating, UNAIR, and continue nurturing figures that make our nation proud,” he said.
