UNAIR NEWSUniversitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has been honored with the Entrepreneurial Marketing Campus Award East Java 2024 by the MarkPlus Institute. The recognition was presented during the Indonesia Marketing Festival (IMF) held at The Westin Surabaya on Thursday, August 22, 2024.

This award acknowledges UNAIR as a leading educational institution in implementing the core values of Entrepreneurial Marketing, namely Creativity, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership.

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, the Rector of UNAIR, highlighted that the university is dedicated to fostering young entrepreneurs among its students through various entrepreneurship programs available on campus.

“We recognize that the role of a university extends beyond producing job-ready graduates. It is also about preparing individuals to become researchers, scientists, and entrepreneurs. At UNAIR, we are committed to nurturing entrepreneurs who build their ventures on a foundation of knowledge,” Prof. Nasih stated.

UNAIR’s commitment to developing young entrepreneurs is demonstrated through the Airlangga Young Entrepreneur program. This initiative aims to educate UNAIR students who are interested in entrepreneurship, whether they are at the idea stage or have already launched a business.

Participants in the program undergo incubation through a series of bootcamp activities and mentoring sessions. They also have the opportunity to receive financial support for their businesses through this program.

“The Airlangga Young Entrepreneur program is part of our collaboration with MarkPlus, aimed at guiding our students toward becoming successful entrepreneurs. We hope this will lead to the rise of new startups and entrepreneurs in the future,” Prof. Nasih added.

In closing, Prof. Nasih emphasized that an entrepreneur should not solely focus on profit. The professor from the Faculty of Economics and Business pointed out that entrepreneurs must also contribute positively to society.

“We continually encourage each student to recognize their unique strengths and transform these into innovations that benefit society. When these benefits are realized, that is when true entrepreneurs are created,” he concluded.
