UNAIR NEWS – The Student Executive Board (BEM) of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga held the 2024 Job Fair Career Week, an annual program organized by the Professional Development Department of BEM. The event took place in the Fadjar Hall of FEB UNAIR on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
The event was officially inaugurated by the Dean of FEB UNAIR, Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE, MSi, Ak, CMA, CA. Prof. Agustia, a distinguished Professor of Accounting, hoped that the Job Fair Career Week would provide valuable benefits to students.
“The aim of this event is to create a platform for communication and dissemination of information about the industry, which is an integral part of our lives. It also serves as a space for students to explore various career paths more thoroughly,” she explained.
This year’s Career Week saw participation from 16 companies, giving FEB UNAIR students and alumni the chance to connect with representatives from leading companies offering job and internship opportunities.
HR Expert Talk Show
The event also featured a talk show with Chintya Krisna Inggira, S.Si, M.PSDM, HR and General Manager of PT Inovasi Teknologi Kosmetika. During the session, Inggira shared her insights on starting a career and offered essential tips for students on how to navigate the competitive job market.
“The job market is becoming increasingly competitive. Students need to be proactive in building their skills, expanding their networks, and staying adaptable to changes in technology and industry trends. Don’t hesitate to pursue internships or jobs that may differ from your academic background,” Inggira encouraged.
CV Review and Walk-in interviews
The event provided additional services, including CV reviews and walk-in interviews, offering students the chance to meet with HR professionals to refine their resumes and boost their chances of success in job hunting.
The walk-in interview sessions allowed participants to interview directly with several companies. Notable companies such as PT Pelindo Daya Sejahtera, PT Indosat Tbk, and PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk were among those offering on-the-spot interviews. For students, this was a golden opportunity to introduce themselves and enhance their prospects of securing employment.
