UNAIR NEWS – In its commitment to advancing science and technology, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) unveiled a series of flagship innovative products at the Startup & Innovation Expo-01 (SINOX-01). The four-day event was held from Wednesday to Saturday (November 20–23, 2024) at Grand City Mall, Surabaya.
The expo, a collaborative initiative between UNAIR’s Start-up Business Development and Incubation Board (BPBRIN) and Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember’s (ITS) Directorate of Innovation and Science Techno Park (DIKST), showcased technological breakthroughs and startups from both institutions.
Strengthened UNAIR-ITS partnership
The event was attended by several key figures, including UNAIR Vice Rector for Academic, Student, and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Dr. Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto, DEA, DVM. During his remarks, Prof. Lukiswanto emphasized that the expo represents a strong commitment from both institutions to develop sustainable innovative products.
“This collaboration reflects a substantive partnership between the two institutions. We aspire to produce innovative products that can benefit industries,” he stated.
The event also featured a business matching session, where investors evaluated innovative products to support their commercialization. This initiative aimed to bridge researchers and investors, enabling product development and distribution to address societal needs effectively.

Showcasing UNAIR’s innovative products
During the event, UNAIR launched nine flagship products in a public presentation. Prof. Lukiswanto emphasized that the initiative represents a collaborative effort by academic institutions to enhance national self-reliance.
Among the key products introduced was TOKOUA, an e-commerce platform developed to promote UNAIR’s innovations and startups. Designed to reduce reliance on third-party platforms, TOKOUA offers UNAIR a cost-effective solution to expand its market reach.
Prof. Muhammad Nafik Hadi Ryandono, S.E., M.Si., Head of BPBRIN, noted that TOKOUA reflects UNAIR’s drive for independence in product development and marketing. “TOKOUA was created to address the high fees associated with traditional e-commerce platforms. This platform allows UNAIR to independently market its innovative products,” he explained.
In addition to TOKOUA, UNAIR introduced eight other groundbreaking innovations during SINOX-01, including Sativa, Meditea Capsules, Skinolaser, Prostamina, Diabetkol, Excelzyme (comprising BleachZyme, AgroZyme, and FeedZyme), MK 02 and MK 03 (Airbilinest), BHA-GEL-CAS.
