UNAIR NEWS – Rinanda Aprillya Maharani, a graduate of the International Relations program Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), has once again made her alma mater proud. Representing East Kutai, East Kalimantan, she secured three prestigious titles at the 2025 Puteri Indonesia competition: Puteri Indonesia Pendidikan (Miss Education), Puteri Indonesia Berbakat (Miss Talent), and Puteri Indonesia Intelegensia (Miss Intelligence).
Although she did not win the main crown, Maharani’s achievements drew widespread recognition. She was the only finalist to claim three titles—an extraordinary feat that highlighted her intellectual depth, artistic flair, and dedication to advancing education.
Commitment to education
Maharani’s accolades were a result of her unwavering commitment to educational advocacy and her role as an inspirational figure for youth. During the pageant’s preliminary events, her dedication to promoting equal access to quality education stood out to both judges and the public. In her final speech, she delivered a poignant message on inclusive education:
“Every child is born with a light to shine. Education is what nurtures that light. Inclusive education isn’t just a system—it ensures every child has a place to learn, dream, and achieve their potential. In a world focused on the majority, let’s open doors to every classroom. A great nation starts with hearts willing to care,” she said.
Maharani’s talent in the arts and culture also earned her the Miss Talent title. Her performance not only showcased her creativity and self-expression but also elegantly introduced elements of East Kalimantan’s local heritage to a national audience.
Her recognition as Miss Intelligence further underscored her wide-ranging knowledge, critical thinking abilities, and eloquent presentation throughout the competition. She emphasized that her pageant journey aimed to demonstrate that true beauty encompasses empathy, intellect, and a radiant inner spirit.
Journey in pageantry
Before advancing to the national stage, Maharani was crowned Puteri Indonesia East Kalimantan 2025 after a rigorous provincial selection, surpassing competitors from prominent cities like Balikpapan and Samarinda.
Her experience in pageantry dates back several years. She previously held the titles of Puteri Pariwisata Indonesia Kaltim 2020, Puteri Pariwisata Indonesia Favorit 2020, and was a Top 10 finalist in the 2020 national competition. These achievements reflect her consistent dedication to using pageantry as a platform for social impact.
At just 22 years old, Rinanda Aprillya Maharani has proven that young women from regional areas can rise to prominence on a national stage. Her triple win at the 2025 Puteri Indonesia pageant is a testament to the power of beauty rooted in intellect, commitment, and love for her culture.
