UNAIR NEWS – As part of its efforts to enhance public health services and uphold the implementation of the university’s Tri Dharma principles, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has established a partnership with RSUD Dr. Iskak Tulungagung. The collaboration was officially launched through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on Tuesday (Nov. 25, 2025) in the Plenary Meeting Room of the RUA Building, 4th Floor, UNAIR Management Office, MERR-C Campus.
Strengthening academic networks
UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan, SE, MSi, MFin emphasized that the partnership represents a strategic effort to strengthen the academic ecosystem that underpins medical quality. “This collaboration demonstrates that universities and regional hospitals can pursue shared goals, delivering excellent healthcare and preparing highly competent medical professionals and specialists,” he said.
The Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business added that the agreement centers on four core pillars: service management and delivery, education, research, and community services. These pillars, he explained, are at the heart of the partnership and reflect UNAIR’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate as a PTN-BH institution.

“We hope this collaboration does more than exist on paper. Let us advance it in tangible, structured, and sustainable ways so it can serve as a model for academic health systems in other regions and create meaningful impact,” Prof. Madyan added.
Positive reception
Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo, SE, ME expressed his appreciation for UNAIR’s dedication to improving healthcare in the region. He noted that both institutions will also work together to enhance research and academic development at national and international levels.
“With this partnership, we are entering a new chapter, uniting Dr. Iskak Hospital and Universitas Airlangga Hospital (RSUA). This collaboration brings renewed hope to our community that high-quality healthcare services can be accessible to the people of Tulungagung,” he said.
He further extended his gratitude for the opportunity to build this partnership. “We are committed to supporting and safeguarding this collaboration to ensure it delivers concrete benefits to the public. Once again, we thank all parties who contributed to making this initiative possible,” he added.
Following remarks from both leadership teams, the event continued with the signing of the cooperation agreement by Prof. Dr. Eighty Mardiyan Kurniawati, dr., SpOG (Urogynecology-RE), Dean of UNAIR’s Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Dr. Nasronudin, dr., SpPD-KPTI, FINASIM, Director of Universitas Airlangga Hospital; and Dr. Zuhrotul Aini, SpA, MKes, Acting Director of Dr. Iskak Regional Hospital. The ceremony concluded with a group photo session.
