UNAIR NEWS – Airlangga Dekat Masyarakat Surabaya (AKSARA) 2026 officially started in RW 002, Sukolilo Baru Village, Surabaya, on Friday, September 18, 2026. This flagship program of Student Executive Board (BEM) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) became the starting point of students community service in developing the community’s potential through various empowerment programs.
Under the theme of “Weaving Hope, Strengthening Potential, Realizing Self-Reliant Village”, AKSARA 2026 presents a series of activities. These activities are in the economics, health, education, and environment fields which are tailored to the needs of the Sukolilo Baru community. These activities represent students’ contribution to the Three Pillars of Higher Education through a community service activity.

AKSARA 2026 becomes the starting point of community service in Sukolilo Baru
The opening ceremony of AKSARA 2026 was attended by the BEM UNAIR president M. Rizqi Senja Wirawan, UNAIR Directorate of Student Affairs, Head of RW 002 Hanafi, Village Chief of Sukolilo Baru Rukayah, Bulak Sub-district Head Hudaya, and local government officials.
In his opening remarks, Bulak Sub-district Head Hudaya expressed that the AKSARA 2026 would proceed in line with the Kampung Pancasila program initiated by the Surabaya city’s government.
“Hopefully this activity would be in line with the Kampung Pancasila program that was initiated by the Surabaya’s City government,” said Hudaya.
On the other hand, BEM UNAIR president, M. Rizqi Senja Wirawan, stated that AKSARA 2026 is not solely focused on the program’s implementation but it also marks the beginning of collaborative effort between students and Sukolilo Baru Village.
“Hopefully this activity will not only be beneficial, but will also mark the beginning of collaborative effort between BEM UNAIR and Sukolilo Baru Village,” Wirawan said.
Presenting local potential-based programs
In the opening ceremony, PIC of AKSARA 2026, Yogi Saputra, presented the program planning which will be conducted on September 18-27, 2026. These programs included several fields, ranging from UMKM empowerment, health education, environment management, and creative activity for children.
Through the Pesisir Berdaya program, AKSARA 2026 presented a mentoring program for UMKM through marketing strategy education, packaging innovation, and payment digitalization using QRIS. Moreover, the Fishnova program encouraged the potential of Sukolilo Baru coastal area by transforming fish waste into useful products.
Through the series of AKSARA 2026, BEM UNAIR is working to develop local potentials of Sukolilo Baru through an empowerment approach which involves the community as a part of the village development process.
