UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) once again conferred degrees on 862 graduates during Graduation 264 Ceremony for Doctoral, Master’s, Bachelor’s, and Diploma Programs. An emotional and joyful atmosphere filled the event, which took place on Saturday (October 10, 2026) at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), MERR-C Campus, UNAIR.

On this moving occasion, UNAIR Rector Prof Dr Muhammad Madyan SE MSi MFin said the degrees the graduates earned today were not the result of instant success, but of sacrifice and a long struggle.

“The titles attached to your names did not come easily. The success you achieved today is actually supported by three main things: hard work, gratitude that keeps you humble, and, most importantly, the prayers and sacrifices of your parents,” he said.

Graduation is the day graduates have awaited the most, a success marked by receiving a degree and gown. Behind that success lie sweat, tears, and the unceasing prayers of parents.

Prof Madyan also reminded the graduates to always carry moral values, ethics, and responsibility wherever they go. According to him, advanced knowledge feels hollow without a moral footing.

“There is a wise message that says the best of people are those who are most beneficial to others. So always carry the character of Ksatria HEBAT in every step you take,” he said.

Upholding HEBAT values

He further explained that HEBAT is an acronym for Humble, Excellent, Brave, Agile, and Transcendent. He hoped the graduates would always hold fast to and practice these values, even though they have different professional backgrounds.

In closing his remarks, Prof Madyan urged UNAIR alumni to always be excellent, make an impact on society, and never hesitate to dream big.

“You are tangible proof that UNAIR graduates are here to make real contributions and add color to world civilization. Wishing you well as you continue your journey, Ksatria Airlangga. Keep making an impact and being of benefit to others,” he concluded.
