Universitas Airlangga has more than 60 leadership development units and student organizations. These groups are spread across different levels of organization, from that of study programs, faculties, to university. Within these groups, there are Student Activity Units (UKM).
A UKM is a forum for developing student soft skills based on their interests and talents. There are five categories of UKM in Unair, namely: UKM of the Special Category consisting of six organizations, UKM of the Art category with eight organizations, UKM of the Sports category consisting of 13 organizations, UKM of the Martial Arts category with nine organizations, and UKM of Spirituality consisting of five organizations.
The UKM of Photography or commonly called the Airlangga Photography Society (APS) is one of the student activity units of Universitas Airlangga that focuses on photography. The APS was established in Surabaya on Tuesday, 21 October 1996 by Rector Decree No: 9952/JO3/KM/1996.
The UKM of Cinematography is one of Universitas Airlangga UKM that focuses on cinematography. This UKM is an education medium for films, film production, and film exhibitions, as well as training students’ soft skills. The goal is to become a campus-based barometer at the local, regional, national and international levels and be able to creatively produce quality films.
Theater “Mata Angin” is one of the Student Activity Units (UKM) at Universitas Airlangga Surabaya. This theater is a self-development place for Unair theatrical artists.
The UKM of Unair Student Choir is a student organization that plans, implements, and develops choir extracurricular activities at the university level. Based on the members’ common interests and talents, Universitas Airlangga Choir seeks to foster, develop, and preserve the values and potential in cultural art, especially the art of music and singing among students.
The UKM of Orchestra is a forum for students to play music and to get organized, especially in the field of orchestral instrumental music.
The UKM of Religious Art (SR) is a university-level student activity unit (UKM) engaged in religious art. This UKM aims to shape musicians who are intellectual and sensitive to the global artistic development. In addition, Religious Art (SR) is also committed to caring for the ancestral culture and preserving the Islamic traditions in the archipelago.
The UKM of Dance and Karawitan of Universitas Airlangga is a Student Activity Unit (UKM) at Airlangga University which was established to accommodate the interest and talent of Airlangga students in dance and karawitan.
The UKM of Tahfidzul Quran (UKM TQ) of Universitas Airlangga is a forum to foster students who memorize the Holy Quran. The goal is to improve the quality of their memorization and make them excellent students with morality.
