UNAIR NEWS – Notable achievements were continuously made by Universitas Airlangga students. This time, five students from the Faculty of Economics and Business won 3rd place in National Business Model Canvas Competition Alteration 2022 on Sunday, July 3, 2022. The five students are Anisa Safitri, Nova Ria Astuti, Willa, and Yogi Lesmana from the Development Economics study program and Tazkia Ibnatiar Rahma from the Management study program.
National Business Model Canvas Competition Alteration 2022 was held by the Indonesian Business Administration Student Association (IMABI) Region II on Young Entrepreneurs Innovate to Increase National Economic Growth theme.
Tazkia, the team leader, explained that BMCC is a business idea competition that presents a visual framework in the form of a canvas that makes it simply understandable.
“The model is used to explain, visualize, assess, and change a business model in order to be able to bring out optimal performance. BMCC accelerates the financial and business weakness analysis,” she said.
Willa further said that the selection stage was very strict. They followed the selection of proposals and prototypes for a month. This stage was followed by 67 teams to select the five best teams to advance to the grand final.
“We made it to the top standings with a very thin difference points with the team below us. In this stage, every team was asked to present our business ideas and followed the QnA session with the juries. The grand final result showed that our team bagged the third place from almost 70 participant teams,” she said.
Building Personal Health Management Tools Platform
In the competition, they created the personal health management tools platform to prevent the aging of organ function disease in many people. For information, the aging of organ function disease contributes to 70 percent of death. However, a lot of people ignore their health conditions.
“Therefore, we create an accessible and affordable platform with exclusive purpose to prevent the aging of organ function disease and set as an alternative health option instead of the expensive cost of seeing the doctor. We have healthy food market additional feature.”
Furthermore, they said that the BMCC system is interesting. They have to arrange a detailed business proposal, including the financial analysis and business prospects. BMCC is a combination of business plan competition and business model canvas competition. The system allows them to learn much that can be transformed into a business idea.
Lastly, the students said that the competition was held during the hectic days of the final exam. However, pure intention and consistency become the required foundation in joining the competition, followed by great teamwork and bonding.
“Group members support one another, sharing tasks, conducting collective research, analyzing the market demand, and other preparations that must be taken to create a profit-oriented business idea with social benefit in empowering the community,” said Tazkia.
