UNAIR NEWS – On the last day of the Covid-19 exhibition in Surabaya square, the Faculty of Advanced Technology and Multidiscipline (FTMM) Universitas Airlangga held an artificial technology talk show. FTMM UNAIR showcased Arta robot to the participants on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

“Arta measure the vital signs, ID is also scanned for data input,” said the speaker, Prisma Megantoro S T M Eng.

Currently, Arta has been used at the Universitas Airlangga Hospital. The robot helps conduct anamnesis (patient’s medical history). However, the system has not been regulated well with a strong security system. It is still integrated with personal computers, which have high hacking risks.

Prisma stated that the team is currently optimizing Arta’s security system. However, the scanned data in the system are safe.

Inavac Covid-19 vaccine

Apart from Arta, the Merah Putih Vaccine, which was formulated by UNAIR virologist Prof. Dr. Fedik Abdul Rantam drh was also presented. He explained the vaccine development, from the virus extraction to the vaccine production.

“Vaccine is the only way to fight the virus, including eliminating the cells, not just medications,” Prof Fedik said.

The key to making the viral replication is recognizing its characters through the DNA structure, which requires preliminary isolation. The isolation room is also designed with an air conditioning system, preventing the researcher from direct contamination.

“Once the vaccine is developed, we can’t use it directly. We have to proceed to clinical tests based on age. Currently, Inavac for children is under clinical testing. The side effect depends on our own immunities,” he said.

The vaccine development is Prof Fedik’s biggest achievement for humanity. He believed that to be successful, one must achieve three things: first, imagination to invent something new tomorrow; second, the calculation to arrange a plan and strategy; third, commitment to make the efforts and achieve success.
