Universitas Airlangga has been actively encouraging and realizing the programs related to the three pillars of higher education. Along with the community, Universitas Airlangga make innovations to solve the problems of the community by conducting sustainable community service programs.
Universitas Airlangga has been actively contributing to community at the international level by participating in World Universities Association for Community Development (WUACD) programs. Being part of WUACD has become a collaborative agenda to contribute to solve the global issues such as poverty health, inequality, climate, environmental destruction, and many more.
To support the provision of mother and child healthcare access, University of Adelaide and Universitas Airlangga collaborate for a project. The objective is to improve the capacity of six hospitals and healthcare center in Samarinda, Kutai Kartanegara, and Balikpapan, a regency in East Kalimantan; also Pasuruan, Jombang, and Tuban Regency in East Java, Indonesia.
The alumni of Universitas Airlangga are committed to support equality for health service among community living in remote areas in Indonesia. The Floating Hospital ‘Ksatria Airlangga’ is established to provide health services, such as health check and minor surgery, to those living in those areas. The calling for providing health service and equal health facilities for all Indonesians are the ultimate goals of UNAIR’s alumni.
Universitas Airlangga has been contributing to the development or rural areas by establishing a multi-disciplinary partnership through a program known as Desa Binaan (Assisted Villages) . The University and the community are working together to encourage independence, educational development, economic advancement, social solidarity as well as strengthening the local values of the community.
The implementation of KKN-BBM or Community Outreach Program in Universitas Airlangga is organized by the Center for Community Service and Development (LPPM) Universitas Airlangga. This program focuses on community outreach programs related to education, health, environment, social and community outside campus. There are several kinds of community outreach program in Universitas Airlangga.
UNAIR is committed to respond immediately to any emergency occurred in Indonesia resulted from natural disasters or any other causes. Working along with the local government and several other parties, UNAIR is trying to help those in emergency situations.
The Community Service Programs of Universitas Airlangga are also targeted to community around campus both in Surabaya and across East Java. The programs are particularly related to such issues as environment, health, community, and education. For example, UNAIR is in collaboration with Bonek (Surabaya Football Supporters in conducting environmental cleaning program around Kalimas Surabaya.
