UNAIR NEWS – Three students of Universitas Airlangga School of Health Science and Natural Science (SIKIA) Banyuwangi, Andre Simanulang, Nafisah Yokachda, and Halim Maulana from the Accounting program, won first place in the national business plan competition, which was held in ITB Widya Gama Lumajang for their Konco Tani app idea.

To UNAIR NEWS, Halim, the team leader, explained that the app aims to help farmers increase the economic value of their crops.

“The farmers sell their products to middlemen at a low price. Besides, many farmers are still confused about marketing their post-harvest products, which causes uneven product distribution,” Halim said on Monday, December 27, 2022.

Implementing supply chain management, Konco Tani partners with several restaurants, hotels, and supermarkets as its consumers. “Konco Tani is quite similar to other e-commerce apps. In this app, farmers are not the sellers, we sell it to the consumers firsthand,” he said.

To attract consumers, Konco Tani was supported with various features, like a product page, shopping cart, order, customer support, and market price.

“Our most excellent feature is the market price page. You can find the most updated market price of the product,” Halim said.

The idea of Konco Tani not only improves the farmers’ welfare but also expands the distribution range to the community.

Feeling content with the achievement, he hoped the app would be realized sustainably to benefit the farmers.
