UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga’s anniversary celebration was officially closed on Sunday, December 4, 2022. The closing event marks UNAIR’s fresh pages towards better growth. Rector Prof Dr Mohammad Nasih SE closed the anniversary celebration in ASEEC Tower, UNAIR Campus Dharmawangsa (B).
This year, UNAIR explored the theme of “For Just and Civilized Indonesia”, which represents the university’s achievements and contributions to the country, for instances, in the field of education, research, and community service.
“Is there any love, our love was never a half-hearted one. This nation, country, and alma mater uphold excellence with morality. Don’t be stupid, be the best for others,” Prof Nasih said, quoting Ada Band’s popular hits.
Former vocalist of Ada Band, Donnie Sibarani was featured in the event. He was an alumnus of UNAIR Faculty of Law (FH), which has long pursued a singing career.
The Rector playfully commented that Donnie is a lost law graduate who becomes a singer instead. However, it is a good sign that during his uni days, Donnie was not just engaged in studies but also pursuing his non-academic interest.
“Therefore, we kindly requested all management to not limit students’ interest and skills,” said the Faculty of Economics and Business professor.
Some faculty bands also gave their special performance at the event, where ASEEC Tower inauguration took place. Prof Nasih believed that such event allows students to give their best at what they do.
“We have never imagined the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) students to perform their lovely music performance with timeless songs,” he ended.
