UNAIR NEWS – The Airlangga Education Expo (AEE) is set to return in 2025, offering high school students and their peers the chance to explore everything Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has to offer. From academic programs and student activities to international initiatives, the event provides a comprehensive overview of the university’s offerings.
Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) presents a variety of international programs designed to enhance students’ global competencies. Prof. Iman Harymawan SE MBA PhD, the Director of AGE, highlighted the wealth of opportunities available for students to gain international experience during their studies.
“We (UNAIR) have collaborated with numerous global partners, making a wide range of international programs accessible to our students. These include outbound student programs, international competitions, and participation in global conferences,” he said.
International opportunities from AGE
Connecting with students from around the world is both an exciting and rewarding experience. It enables UNAIR students to gain new perspectives, learn about diverse cultures, and unlock broader growth opportunities. Prof. Harymawan emphasized that students could enjoy these benefits by participating in the international programs offered by AGE.
“The first category of international programs is outbound student programs. We frequently receive invitations from foreign universities for our students to study abroad. These opportunities include invitations for competitions, student exchanges, and international conferences,” Prof. Harymawan explained.
He also noted that UNAIR hosts international students on campus, creating additional opportunities for local students to enhance their skills. By becoming buddies, UNAIR students can improve their communication and English proficiency while showcasing the university and its culture.
“When international students visit UNAIR, our students can serve as buddies or companions. This allows them to introduce UNAIR, its cultural heritage, and the local social environment,” he added.
Training programs for students
AGE also runs training programs to prepare students for international opportunities. These programs focus on building skills such as English communication, interview techniques, and essay writing.
“AGE provides students with training sessions to prepare them for international programs. This includes guidance on interviews and essay preparation. Students just need to stay updated through AGE’s website or Instagram account,” Prof. Harymawan said.
