UNAIR NEWS – UNAIR Faculty of Veterinary Medicine held a guest lecture featuring Dr dr Iswahyudi MP, Head of Animal Health Department at the Animal Husbandry Service of East Java Province. The students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine attended the guest lecture held on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
In his presentation, drh Iswahyudi delivered the licensing policy for animal health worker practice according to regulations issued by Minister of Agriculture (Permentan 2021) no 15. He stated that the regulations provide wider job opportunities for animal health workers.
“There are many areas that lack civil services veterinary professionals, but thanks to the most recent Permentan 2021 no 15, the opportunity gets bigger,” he said.
Related to the Permentan 2021 no 15 regarding business activity standards and product standards in implementing risk-based business licensing in the agricultural sector, drh Iswahyudi stated that the veterinary medical and paramedical services are included in the livestock and animal health sector.
He further stated that a veterinarian who will open practice is obliged to apply for a practice license. The rule is based on Permentan 2021 No. 15, an online application is available to obtain the license. “Based on the Permentan 2021 no 15, the license application has already used OSS (online single submission).”
Drh Iswahyudi explained that veterinarians who will open their practice can look up the Indonesian Standard Product Classification (KBLI) 01621 regarding livestock health services. He also emphasized that veterinarians who already have a practice permit (SIP) have the right to perform artificial insemination (IB) or injectable mating.
“It’s [also regulated] in the Standard Classification of Business Fields (KLBI) 01622 about the basics of cattle breeding for the paramedics, injectable mating officers, and artificial insemination veterinary, except veterinary,”
Drh Iswahyudi added that the practice permit for veterinarians who will open a joint practice can refer to KBLI 75000 regarding ambulatory health activities, mobile clinics, or veterinary hospitals. He also reminded them to coordinate with the local animal husbandry department.
“Because if they go straight themselves, they usually got it wrong. For instance, an independent veterinarian should be included in the KBLI 01621. However, most of the time, they will be in KBLI 75000, which should be used for veterinarians who work in mobile clinics or hospitals. Institution is a must,” he said.
