UNAIR FEB makes two achievements in SEHATI Sharia Economic Competition

UNAIR NEWS – Six students of Universitas Airlangga Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) have made two achievements in SEHATI Sharia Economic Competition. Two delegate groups from UNAIR KSEI AcSES (Association of Sharia Economics Studies) won the Second Prize and Top Scorer.

While Alif Fahril Aziz, Mita Kurniya, and Dzikri Nurrohman successfully won Second Place in the Islamic Economic Olympiad held by Universitas Diponegoro Faculty of Economics and Business, Roval Romadhon, Rahmat Fiqih Gunawan, and Ismy Fadiyah were named the Top Scorer.

Alif, the Team A leader, said their biggest motivation is improving their knowledge and gaining experiences at external competitions.

“We were on the Big-8 waiting list. Alhamdulillah [praise God], we put our maximum effort during the final round, coming back and winning Second Prize,” he said.

Ismy, representing Team B, said that implementing the knowledge they have got in class was their motivation to make the achievement. They aspired to take UNAIR to the national level.

“Besides, we want to practice the knowledge we got in class for ourselves and the surrounding people,” she said.

Team B passed several stages in the SEHATI competition. Starting from the selection stage until the Big-8 Finalists. For the final round, they finished the written test, solved the study case, and joined the quiz. The team got sharia economics, the history of sharia economics, and sharia accounting for the topics discussed.

“The most important one was the real case discussion, such as the possibility of implementing full sharia banking in Indonesia,” Ismy said.

The teams were supervised by Ubaidillah, UNAIR FEB lecturer. They sent their biggest gratitude for his mentorship and guidance.

“All his recommendations and feedback have been a great help for our teams,” said Ismy ending the interview.
