UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga held a dissemination roadshow of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2023 at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga on February 3, 2023. The Head of Global Mobility Programs from Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE), Astria Okta Herdiani SIKom presented the first material.

She named the qualification and compulsory requirements for the IISMA 2023 applicants. Registration will be open from February 8 to March 1, 2023.

First, the applicant is an active student in the fourth to sixth semester with a minimum GPA of 3. The applicant must not be over 23 years old with an English proficiency certificate, TOEFL iBT of 78, IELTS 6.0, or Duolingo English Test of 100.

Third, the student has never taken academic leave and must attach a nomination letter from the Vice-Rector through AGE. “The procedure to get the nomination letter can be checked on the link, which will be available on February 13, 2023,” Astria said. Here’s the link:  http://bit.ly/IISMAUNAIR2023

Fourth, the applicant has no learning experience abroad at all. “Like summer or winter program, internship, semester exchange, credit mobility, sit-in, dual or double degree,” she said. Fifth, the applicant does not join more than one MBKM program or receive any fund or scholarship from the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology and the Education Endowment Fund (LPDP) during the IISMA program.

Some documents must also be prepared to upload, such as academic transcripts, student identity cards, TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo certificates, passport ID, and essay drafts. The following session was delivered by Alifyaa Rahmanita, an IISMA awardee from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNAIR. She shared some preparation tips for IISMA 2023 registration.

After conducting research on the university, Alifiyaa suggested preparing a well-written essay. The first step was drafting, finding inspiration, reviewing, and finding essay references from the previous scholarship awardees.

“After finding the inspiration, you can write it right away. Remember, the essay shouldn’t only focus on achievement. Write about the impacts. Don’t copy from someone else’s works. Ask your friend to review your essay,” she said.
