The workshop, held on Friday and Saturday, February 17-18, 2023, was conducted as personal branding development.

The workshop is a part of the international community service program in Singapore, which was conducted by Dr. Santi Isnaini and Dina Septiani Ph.D.

“Everyone has a fear of speaking in public, especially if it’s their first time,” the Head of the Creative Industry Specialization of Human Resources Development Program, Postgraduate School (SPs), Dr. Santi Isnaini.

She believed that the SIS teachers must be well-prepared. However, facing different audiences may require more preparation. “The SIS teachers represent Indonesia, more than the teacher role or the SIS,” the Communication Department lecturer of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNAIR said.

The workshops were relevant because according to the SIS Headmaster, Yenny Dwi Maria stated that the school possesses a strategic position as a school with Indonesia’s curriculum and is located in the heart of international commerce, central business, and finance.

“Every teacher and staff at SIS aren’t just representing themselves, they represent the institution and Indonesia,” she said.

The Education and Culture Attaché of the Republic of Indonesia Embassy (KBRI) in Singapore, IGAK Satrya Wibawa, Ph.D. stated that the community service program was essential to developing international collaboration and demonstrating the role of postgraduate schools in society.

“The community service program was coined from the previous discussion of UNAIR Postgraduate School management during their visit to the KBRI a while ago. In principle, we are ready to support all activities beneficial for Indonesia,” he said.

The workshop was conducted for two days, with lectures on the first and practice on the second. They practiced an elevator pitch, a brief speech that outlines information for 30 seconds, just like a running elevator. The method became the key to delivering personal branding materials from the SIS teachers.
