Infographic: Challenges and strengths of Gen Z in the workforce

UNAIR NEWS – The unique challenges and advantages faced by Generation Z in today’s workforce are increasingly gaining attention. As competition in the job market intensifies, Gen Z must navigate several obstacles—yet they also possess distinct strengths that can help them thrive.

Challenges in workplace

Gen Z is entering the workforce amid numerous hurdles. Among them are Indonesia’s demographic bonus projected for 2025–2035, which will see 190.83 million people of working age; the rise of ghost jobs and fraudulent job postings; rapid technological advances such as AI and automation; and lingering societal stigma toward younger workers.

Strategies for success

To succeed in this environment, Gen Z must cultivate stronger analytical thinking, self-motivation, and self-awareness. Equally important is embracing the mindset that success requires time and consistent effort—there are no shortcuts.

Strengths of Gen Z

Despite these challenges, Gen Z brings key advantages to the table. They are digital natives, inherently creative, and highly adaptable—traits that are especially valuable in the ever-evolving modern workplace.
