UNAIR NEWS – The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has collaborated with Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) to conclude “Kemenkes Goes to Campus” series, which previously had visited 15 other top universities across Indonesia. This event took place on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Garuda Mukti Hall within UNAIR’s Management Office at the MERR-C Campus.
The event featured Dr. Arianti Anaya, Director General of Health Workforce at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, as the keynote speaker. Anaya highlighted that the purpose of the event was to inform UNAIR students and graduates about career opportunities in the Ministry of Health, specifically through the 2024 recruitment of Civil Servants Candidates (CASN).
Health as a National Priority
In her main address, Arianti Anaya underscored the vital role of skilled healthcare professionals in realizing the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. “Health is a national priority, and the Ministry of Health is committed to recruiting the finest talent, including from UNAIR,” she stated. Anaya urged students to take advantage of this opportunity to pursue a career and make a meaningful contribution to the country.
Anaya also outlined the selection process for the Ministry of Health’s 2024 CASN recruitment. She hopes that UNAIR graduates would be well-prepared for the selection. “We are seeking individuals who possess not only knowledge and skills but also integrity and a strong dedication to public service. This is your opportunity to live up to UNAIR’s motto, Excellence with Morality,” Anaya remarked.
Alumni insights
The event continued with a talk show featuring several Ministry of Health employees, including two distinguished UNAIR alumni who now hold key positions within the Ministry.
Anna Kurniati, Director of Health Workforce Utilization and a graduate of UNAIR’s Faculty of Public Health (FKM), shared her career experiences at the Ministry of Health. She inspired the audience by recounting how UNAIR equipped her with the comprehensive knowledge and skills necessary for professional success.
“I am immensely grateful to UNAIR for providing me with a solid educational foundation. My experience at the Ministry of Health has reinforced the importance of dedication and hard work in serving the public,” Kurniati said.
Meanwhile, Bonanza Perwira Taihitu, Head of the Center for Global Health and Health Technology and an alumnus of UNAIR’s Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary skills and adaptability in addressing global health challenges. He reflected on his experience transitioning from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Ministry of Health.
“In today’s globalized world, healthcare professionals must be able to adapt quickly and collaborate across disciplines to address increasingly complex challenges. UNAIR instilled in me the values of adaptability and collaboration, which are essential in the workplace,” Taihitu explained.
Through the “Kemenkes Goes to Campus” program, the Ministry of Health not only provided valuable information about the CASN recruitment process but also inspired UNAIR students and graduates to contribute to the nation’s health sector. “This is a chance to be part of the solution to the country’s health challenges. Let’s work together to achieve a Healthy Indonesia 2045,” Anaya concluded in her closing remark.
