UNAIR NEWS – Claudia Benita was officially inaugurated as the Head of the Universitas Airlangga Bidikmisi Student Organization (AUBMO) year 2022-2023. During her leadership, she committed to keeping the organization stick to its three principles; service, dedication, and development.
The appointment was not something Claudia expected, considering the other rival candidates also meet the requirements and deserve the position. She was grateful to take part in advancing the AUBMO. “I’m truly excited to be one of the history makers in AUBMO,” she said.
The third-year Nutrition student said that AUBMO has long held the three principles since its establishment. This year, the organizational direction is collaboration.
“In my evaluation as a committee, a good collaboration between each committee, each department, and each member are highly necessary,” she said.
AUBMO has thousands of members across all faculties in UNAIR. The committee this year will inclusively involve every member and committee. The collaboration was expected to collectively advance AUBMO forward.
“Together, we can make AUBMO a medium that is needed by the members of Bidikmisi and Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) in UNAIR.”
Collaborative Work
Claudia emphasized that collaboration and teamwork are different. Teamwork means every member work in their respective roles to reach different goals, while collaboration aims to reach the same purposes.
“In collaboration, we have our own roles to reach the goals as the collective purpose, not different purposes.”
Claudia believed that a balanced internal and external focus is necessary. However, due to the previous evaluation, AUBMO will focus on fixing the unresolved internal side.
“I will maintain the positive sides. After fixing the internal, we will perform together on the external side,” she added.
In the end, Claudia aspired to streamline the organization by switching the online system to offline. For the past couple of years, some programs could not be executed due to the pandemic. This year, Claudia wants to hold more offline events in the new normal.
“AUBMO will reenact our previous programs, which are essential and useful for the members and non-members,” she said.
