UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) officially released 65 outbound mobility students abroad on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. They are from the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA), Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards for Vocational Students (IISMAVO), and the 2022 University Partnership Mobility Program.
On this occasion, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak emphasized the role of IISMA participants as UNAIR ambassadors on the global stage.
Held virtually, Prof. Nasih advised IISMA participants to maintain the good name of the alma mater. Prof. Nasih also conveyed messages for the IISMA student destination campus.
“As ambassadors, you are all responsible for promoting UNAIR and proving that you are excellent students with morality,” he said.
For that, Prof. Nasih said the IISMA program is a golden opportunity. Not only for students but also for universities and even society in general.
“Gain as much knowledge, experience, and skills as you can to share with your alma mater and Indonesia,” he explained.
The same thing was conveyed by the Director of Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) Iman Harymawan PhD. He appealed to students to take advantage of every opportunity in the IISMA program.
Iman reported that 16 percent of students will go to the world’s top 10 campuses, 46 percent of students will go to the world’s top 100 campuses, and the rest will go to the world’s top 500 campuses.
“It means you can take and develop many things during your activities there,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Academic, Students, and Alumni Affairs, Prof Dr Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto DEA DVM asked students to build connections, especially with the academic community of the destination campus and the Indonesian citizen community there.
“Maintain good relations with all parties,” he said.
After being officially released, three students gave testimonies related to the IISMA 2022 program. Faculty of Law student Alex Wijaya, for example, appreciated the support of AGE and UNAIR, who actively helped students to prepare for the departure.
The same thing was conveyed by Elza Rhenata from the Faculty of Vocational Studies, who participated in IISMAVO, and Quindhira Izzanina from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, who participated in the University Cooperation Mobility Program.
All three are committed to gaining as much knowledge as possible and are ready to contribute to the alma mater and society through the program. (*)
