UNAIR NEWSUniversitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held its Graduation 244 ceremony on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) on the MERR-C campus. This event marked a significant milestone for thousands of students who were celebrating their accomplishments. Shah Faisal, a graduate from Pakistan, shared his reflections as a representative of his peers, emphasizing that this graduation is not just about him, but about all the graduates who have worked tirelessly to reach this moment.

“This is not just a celebration for me; it is for all graduates,” he expressed emotionally. Faisal recounted his journey, filled with sacrifices and challenges, culminating in his distinction as the top student with a perfect GPA of 4.00.

Faisal’s achievements extend beyond his graduation; they are also evident in his academic contributions. Throughout his five years pursuing both a master’s and a doctoral degree, he published several research articles indexed in Scopus, two of which are ranked in the first quartile (Q1), the highest tier in international journal indexes.

“I have been fortunate to study at Universitas Airlangga, which offers a well-structured system and clear guidance for learning. This environment enabled me not only to graduate on time but also to actively participate in research publication,” said the doctoral graduate from the Faculty of Pharmacy at UNAIR.

Beyond celebrating their accomplishments, Faisal emphasized the critical role graduates play after their studies. He views earning an academic degree as the beginning of greater responsibilities: making meaningful contributions to society. “Let us come together to become vital members of our communities,” he passionately urged his fellow graduates.

Faisal reminded his peers that as graduates of UNAIR, they have a responsibility to actively engage in advancing a civilized society. He encouraged them to use the knowledge they have gained to do good and create a positive impact in their communities.

In closing his speech, Faisal offered words of encouragement to his friends who have shared in their academic struggles. “You are all extraordinary individuals who have overcome many obstacles to reach this day,” he said. He emphasized that the challenges faced during their education serve as valuable preparation for the future.

“If we can endure these difficult times, we are ready to face whatever lies ahead. Go out and conquer the world! Let us share our knowledge, spread kindness, and expand our horizons for the advancement of Universitas Airlangga, embodying Excellence with Morality,” he concluded.

Faisal’s speech served as a reminder to all UNAIR graduates that they are just beginning a new journey. With determination, strong resolve, and a desire to contribute, he inspired his peers to face the future with confidence and courage.
