UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has received another international recognition. This time, Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (QS WUR) officially announced its ranking of the best universities in the world. The prestigious ranking agency ranks UNAIR at #369 in its QS World University Rankings 2023.

This achievement proves that UNAIR should be taken into account, not only at national level but also at the international level. It resulted from joint efforts made by all UNAIR academics, lecturers, students, and alumni. It was conveyed by UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak at a press conference at the Management Office, MERR C Campus UNAIR, Thursday, June 9, 2022.

Alhamdulillah , UNAIR has improved its performance by 96 points. From (rank, ed ) #465 last year, now it is (ranked, ed ) #369,” he said.

Prof. Nasih also said that the main contributor to this achievement was the Employer Reputation (ER) of UNAIR. ER is an assessment from company leaders about the reputation of Universitas Airlangga alumni who work in their companies. In ER, UNAIR is ranked 125th, it means that UNAIR’s rank for ER has increased by 51 points.

“Our Academic Reputation (AR) has also improved, now at position #277. Our Employer Reputation has improved by 51 points, and our AR has improved by 33 points,” he added.

According to records, UNAIR is one of the universities progressing so fast. In 2019, UNAIR was ranked at #751 – 800, in 2020 it was at #651 – 700. In 2021, UNAIR was ranked #521 – 530 and in 2022 at #465. With great efforts, in 2023, UNAIR has soared to #369 World’s Top Universities.

“The main key in the future, in order to improve quality, is collaboration and research networks,” added Prof. Nasih

In the end, Prof. Nasih hopes that in the future, there will be more universities in Indonesia that can reach World’s Top 500 Universities. Until now, only five universities are in the World’s Top 500: UNAIR, UI, UGM, ITB, and IPB.

“We hope we can maintain our current position or, better yet, we can improve it,” he concluded.
