UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga ( UNAIR ) signed a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) regarding the implementation of the 2023 Independent Student Exchange (PMM) program. The agreement was signed by UNAIR Director for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Sukardiman MS Apt in Building D Kemendikbud Ristek, Jakarta, on Thursday, June 15, 2023.

The signing session was witnessed by Acting Director General of Higher Education Research and Technology Prof. Ir Nizam MSc DIC PhD IPU and Head of the PMM Program Asri Aldila Putri SSos MSi. All university leaders and coordinators whose universities accepting PMM 2023 students were also present.

UNAIR, with 203 other tertiary institutions, will officially host PMM students in the upcoming odd semester of 2023/2024.

Partner with most students

As PMM host, UNAIR will receive a total of 391 participants. It makes UNAIR the second university with the most domestic exchange students in Indonesia. Last year, UNAIR was placed third in the number of PMM program participants, with 300 students.

Latest scheme

In this year’s newest scheme, vocational students can also take part in the PMM program. Furthermore, out of a total of 391 participants who will conduct PMM at UNAIR, there are 98 vocational students from all Vocational Colleges (PTV) in Indonesia.

Students will be able to learn for a semester which will be recognized for a maximum of 20 credits, consisting of 16 credits for regular lectures and 4 credits for the Nusantara Module.

Expectation

Prof. Sukardiman, as UNAIR Director for Academic Affairs, views the PMM program in the Emancipated Learning – Emancipated Campus series (MBKM) as a good future program.

“Apart from improving soft skills, students also have the opportunity to get to know each other among students throughout the archipelago. At the same time, getting to know culture and diversity,” he explained.

The Professor from the Faculty of Pharmacy (FF) UNAIR hopes that this program will become a leading program. “Following the PMM tagline itself, Temporary Exchange, Meaningful Forever,” he hoped. (*)
