UNAIR NEWS – As one of the world-class universities, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) continues to strengthen its collaboration networks. The collaborations are not only from within the country but also abroad. This time, UNAIR is strengthening the collaboration with Pukyong National University (PKNU), South Korea.
UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak visited Pukyong National University to strengthen collaboration on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. Previously, the university in Busan, South Korea had visited UNAIR and signed a cooperation agreement on July 7, 2022.
Prof. Nasih said that PKNU is a member university of the World University Association in Community Development (WUACD), an international association initiated by UNAIR. WUACD focuses on improving the quality of community service both in Indonesia and abroad with other WUACD members.
Prof. Nasih’s meeting with Dr. Young Soo Jang, the President of PKNU, marked a significant milestone in further strengthening cooperation and collaboration.
“The mutual commitment demonstrated by both institutions has laid a solid foundation for sustained collaboration, knowledge exchange, and joint initiatives,” said Prof. Nasih.
Furthermore, one of the Vice Deans of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK) UNAIR had the opportunity to study at PKNU. It is proof that the relationship between UNAIR and PKNU is well established. “The deep connections we have forged through this collaboration has brought immense benefits of international cooperation in education,” said Prof. Nasih.
Research and Double-Degree collaboration
The meeting discussed plans to deepen cooperation in the fields of research, academic mobility, and double-degree programs. “Collaboration in the research sector can also be linked to mobility activities and student exchanges related to research,” explained Prof. Nasih.
Prof. Nasih is optimistic that academic mobility between UNAIR and PKNU can equip students to face change. ” By strengthening our partnership, we can continue to provide our students with a global perspective and equip them with the skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world,” he said.
Facing global changes
Prof. Nasih added that cooperation is the key to facing global changes. “By working together, we can effectively address global challenges, contribute to the advancement of knowledge, and nurture a generation of future leaders,” he added.
Prof. Nasih emphasized that future collaborations will always be produced to benefit all. “I look forward to the fruitful collaborations that lie ahead and the positive impact we will make together,” he concluded. (*)
