UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) continues to demonstrate its presence on the international stage, this time through its administrative staff, represented by Fitri Dianitasari. Dianitasari was the sole UNAIR staff member selected to participate in the 2024 Sapienza Staff Week, a gathering that drew 46 participants from 28 different nations. The program was held from Tuesday, October 14, to Friday, October 18, 2024.
Dianitasari explained that Sapienza Staff Week served as a dynamic space for international administrative staff to share expertise. “This event provided a platform for participants to exchange experiences and strategies, especially regarding initiatives to enhance student and staff mobility, doctoral programs, and inclusive opportunities through presentations and open discussions,” said Dianitasari, who works in UNAIR’s Postgraduate School.
Expanding global networks
Dianitasari highlighted that her involvement aimed to strengthen UNAIR’s global network, particularly in internationalization. “As someone working in internationalization, this program was vital for building new connections. It also offered a great opportunity to expand our professional network and explore future collaborations,” she noted.
Expressing her gratitude, Dianitasari shared her pride in representing UNAIR at this international event. “I am both proud and honored to represent UNAIR at Sapienza Staff Week. not only to bring visibility to our university but also to promote a positive image of Indonesia on the global stage,” she said.
Her participation required extensive preparation, supported by UNAIR’s Postgraduate School.
The Postgraduate School provided unwavering support throughout this process. My role as Secretary of the International Partnerships Unit within the faculty has given me valuable experience in this area. Additionally, insights from AGE colleagues on university-level partnerships were essential resources for my presentations here,” she explained.
Recognition and appreciation
A memorable moment for Dianitasari was when Sapienza University recognized UNAIR for its success in the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program. Several UNAIR students had taken part in student exchanges there, a program that received praise from Sapienza University. “This program has allowed many Indonesian students to study here, showcasing their eagerness to learn and positively promoting Indonesian culture,” she shared.
In a closing statement, Dianitasari hopes that similar international events can be hosted at UNAIR to expand its global presence and encourage collaboration. She also hopes to inspire others to continue building their skills and be prepared to engage in international programs in the future.
