UNAIR NEWS – As part of its commitment to fostering global partnerships, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), through its Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE), recently welcomed a visit from Taiwan’s National Central University (NCU). One of Taiwan’s leading universities, NCU has been partnered with UNAIR since 2021, facilitating both inbound and outbound student exchanges. The event, held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, included a strategic meeting at the Plenary Meeting Room in Balai RUA on the 4th floor of the Management Office, and a Scholarship Information Session at Room 301 in the Kahuripan Building, Management Office at UNAIR’s MERR-C Campus.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Muhammad Miftahussurur, UNAIR’s Vice Rector for Internationalization, Digitalization, and Information; Dr. Iman Harymawan, Director of AGE; and Prof. Hsieh Lung Hsu, NCU’s Vice President for International Affairs.
“This is an exceptional opportunity to welcome NCU and discuss academic partnerships, while also exploring future collaborations that will benefit our students,” Prof. Miftahussurur commented.
Strengthening academic partnerships
Having partnered with UNAIR for over two years, NCU is dedicated to deepening its cooperation, which includes student exchanges, joint research projects, dual degree programs, short-term courses, and internships.
During the meeting, Prof. Harymawan emphasized that UNAIR consistently organizes strategic meetings with its partner universities around the world. Each year, UNAIR strives to strengthen these connections, enhancing relationships with global institutions.
The meeting specifically focused on strategies to deepen the collaboration between UNAIR and NCU and to identify potential areas for future partnerships. “I believe this experience and collaboration hold great potential for our international relations. As an academician, I hope these partnerships will also provide substantial academic opportunities for our students,” Prof. Iman expressed.

Following the strategic meeting, Prof. Hsieh led an information session introducing NCU and its scholarship programs to UNAIR students. Attendees included students from various faculties interested in studying in Taiwan, particularly at NCU.
