UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga Hospital (UNAIR Hospital) has established various collaborations domestically and internationally. One of the collaborations is with the National Taiwan University Hospital Yunlin Branch (NTUH-YL). NTUH-YL visited UNAIR Hospital to share and give a guest lecture to strengthen their cooperation.
NTUH-YL brought its expert staff to share their experiences with students and staff at UNAIR Hospital in delivering healthcare services. The Director of UNAIR Hospital, Prof. Dr. Nasronudin, explained that the collaboration with NTUH-YL would not be limited to guest lectures.
“In the future, we will establish collaboration in the field of nutrition. Nutrition is a crucial aspect of hospital care,” he said.
Prof. Chien Ching Hung, a representative from NTUH-YL, mentioned that their visit to UNAIR Hospital was part of the joint development of artificial intelligence technology.
“Since the Covid-19 pandemic, face-to-face meetings have become limited. Activities have shifted to webinars, and we now see each other through screens,” he said.
Research collaboration
Prof. Ching Hung revealed that their collaboration also involved research in the medical field, patient care, and other areas related to healthcare services. “Our visit here is to share our experiences in providing quality healthcare services, which has been our main focus for a long time,” he expressed.
The guest lecture, held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at the Dharmawangsa Auditorium of UNAIR Hospital, was divided into two sessions. The first session focused on nursing management, nutrition management, and infectious diseases. Participants had the opportunity to engage in direct discussions with various experts from NTUH-YL about providing quality healthcare services to patients.
The second session allowed participants to discuss telemedicine practices applied in Taiwan. During this presentation, NTUH-YL showcased how they provide comprehensive healthcare services using advanced technology.
One of the participants, Aidil, expressed his pleasure with the guest lecture. “It’s exciting to have direct discussions with experts from Taiwan. Hopefully, this established collaboration will be a good starting point for improving healthcare services in Indonesia,” he concluded. (*)
