Tens of thousands of students in Teaching Campus Program complete assignments

UNAIR NEWS – After carrying out their duties for approximately six months, students of the Teaching Campus (Kampus Mengajar) Program Batch 5 of 2023 officially completed their duties at the Withdrawal Ceremony on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. The program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) had assigned more than twenty thousand students from more than 700 universities, including Universitas Airlangga  (UNAIR) throughout the country.

Appreciation to participants

The Academic Director of Vocational Higher Education Dr. Beny Bandanadjaja ST MT appreciated the participants’ dedication through the Zoom meeting room. “Your decision and commitment to making a positive contribution to society, especially in schools, demands consistency, it’s very inspiring,” he said to the participants.

Apart from having an impact on school construction, Dr Beny hopes that this opportunity will also have a positive impact on undergraduate and vocational students. Also, it will be a valuable lesson for the future of each participant.

“We are sure that we open the gates for school students to dream and set their goals as high as the sky,” he said.

Strengthening education transformation in Indonesia

The Teaching Campus Program allows students to assist the teacher’s role in face-to-face learning, literacy, numeracy, technology adaptation, and administrative and managerial activities. After several implementations, this program has successfully developed fun learning strategies and models for elementary and junior high schools where participants are assigned. For this reason, implementing this program contributes to improving and strengthening the transformation of the quality of education in Indonesia.

UNAIR support for Teaching Campus

As one of the best tertiary institutions in Indonesia, UNAIR facilitates students to take part in activities giving positive impact on capacity building, part of the Emancipated Learning- Emancipated Campus (MBKM) program: the Teaching Campus. According to regulations from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, UNAIR rewards students who dare to leave their comfort zone and are passionate about teaching through the Teaching Campus program with recognition of up to 20 credits. (*)
