UNAIR NEWS – As one of the world-class universities, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) produces quality graduates and outstanding lecturers and researchers. The latest achievement came from a trio of researchers from the Faculty of Nursing (FKp) UNAIR. They are Prof Dr Ah Yusuf SKp MKes, Prof Nursalam Hons, and Ferry Efendi SKep Ns MSc PhD. The three nursing lecturers and researchers made it to Indonesia’s 2023 World Top 100 Medical and Health Sciences Scientist list.
The ranking was from the assessment of scientific journals’ impact. It means that scientific articles must be high quality, acknowledged, and cited by others. Ferry, the researcher’s representative, said that there were no significant difficulties in publishing scientific journals. Moreover, research and publication is one of the Three Pillars of Higher Education. However, difficulties sometimes arise from within the authors.
“The difficulty sometimes comes from ourselves, persistence, and discovering new things we can do. To improve the impact of publication, you have to be consistent,” he said.
Must be observant
Ferry revealed that a researcher must be observant in choosing topics and subjects in scientific journals. Working on these topics and subjects consistently will produce outstanding achievements.
“I think all researchers can make achievements as long as they are diligent, understand the trending topics in each subject, and are consistent in that area,” he said.
In the future, these three researchers will continue to work and be even more productive in producing scientific journals and research products for the community. “Keep on working and be productive for research, publication, and downstream process to make UNAIR better,” said Ferry.
He advised researchers that no matter how small the research is, it will bring change and new insight to the world. Ferry also advised to keep working. “Keep asking questions, stay curious, and never give up when facing obstacles,” he said.
Ferry added that another thing that is no less important is to continue to improve collaboration. “Stay dedicated, collaborate with colleagues, and always learn and grow. The world needs your contribution and dedication. Keep fighting and innovating for a better future,” he concluded. (*)
