Thrilling start to ASEAN University Games 3×3 Basketball matches

UNAIR NEWS – On the first day of the 3×3 basketball tournament, teams from six countries—Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, and Singapore—participated, with five men’s and five women’s teams competing.

The Vice Chairman of Indonesian Basketball Association (PERBASI), Ratana Arya Krishnan, encouraged all players to uphold sportsmanship throughout the tournament. “Play because you love the game and maintain full sportsmanship,” he advised.

The men’s and women’s 3×3 Basketball matches, held at the GOR MEER-C Campus UNAIR, were intense as teams strived to deliver their best performances. Each game concluded when a team scored 21 points, with each session lasting 10 minutes.

Philippines 21 vs. Brunei 0 (Philippines won in 6 minutes and 22 seconds)

Indonesia 21 vs. Laos 5 (Indonesia won in 6 minutes and 24 seconds)

Malaysia 21 vs. Laos 8 (Malaysia won in 6 minutes and 45 seconds)

Indonesia 21 vs. Brunei 2 (Indonesia won in 5 minutes and 44 seconds)

Malaysia 17 vs. Philippines 21 (Philippines won in 8 minutes and 36 seconds)

Singapore 21 vs. Malaysia 12 (Singapore won in 7 minutes and 37 seconds)

Indonesia 22 vs. Laos 5 (Indonesia won in 7 minutes and 37 seconds)

Laos 5 vs. Malaysia 21 (Malaysia won in 7 minutes and 1 second)

The tournament is scheduled to run for three days, from Wednesday to Friday (June 26-28, 2024). The winners will advance to the semifinals and finals on the third day.
