Tips to stay productive during holiday a la UNAIR outstanding student

UNAIR NEWS – For UNAIR students, the long-awaited holidays are finally here. There are a lot of positive things to do to keep it productive.

Genada Asaika, UNAIR outstanding student 2022, shared her plans for the holiday to UNAIR NEWS on Friday, July 15, 2022. There are a lot of productive ways to spend the holiday.

“You could join the internships, volunteer for community services, or take self-development classes,” she said.

Genada said the holiday activities can be adjusted to students’ talents and interests. Ever since she was a fresher, Genada always has productive ways for the holiday.

“Alhamdulillah [thank God]. Once, I volunteered for the community service program at Student Executive Board (BEM). I took a public speaking class and leadership program. I also joined a competition and international conference,” she said.

Gege has prepared plans for the holiday. She will join the internship program at Tokopedia until August 2022. “I’m currently working on cultural research with a lecturer at the post-graduate program,” she added.

The UNAIR Faculty of Humanities (FIB) student also joined the National Outstanding Student Election (Pilmapres). She will conduct an offline test for the Pilmapres in Malang to provide a desk evaluation.

As a founder and executive director of SAFE Indonesia, Gege will also undertake a national expedition in July. The event will be held to commemorate National Children’s Day with the orphans and vulnerable children. At the end of July 2022, she will present at the International Conference in Aachen, Germany.

Upon spending her productive holiday, a lot of things left her impressed. The community service part was what she loved the most as she had to travel to some cities to educate the children in need for a whole month.

“It was tiring and fun at the same time. I got to learn and play with the children from diverse backgrounds,” Gege said.

She also gained new insight into discovering the meaning of life and being grateful. It encourages her to help children to provide better education.

“I think it is a time for us to provide them access and equality of education. Because their futures matter,” she ended.
